Afterglow is the newest venture by Sweetgrass productions. Teaming up with Philips and Swedish ad agency Ahlstrand & Wallgren has brought us some of the most colorful skiing footage to date. The footage speaks for itself. Featuring veterans Chris Benchetler, Pep Fujas, Eric Hjorleifson, and Daron Rahlves. Shot on location at: Golden Alpine Holidays Sentry Lodge, Alyeska Resort, and the Alaskan Wilderness.
Though the fellas at Sweetgrass as brought us something truly stunning, and I appreciate their angle of story telling, the voiceover is a stretch. Maybe it’s an homage to Warren Miller’s classic narration, but it is still unnecessary. This was, very obviously, a paid advertisement for Philips.
But you know what? It’s free. Beggars can’t be choosers. A round of applause to the concept, production, and post team.
Filling your ears with sounds of The First Aids and Other Lives makes this a worthwhile flick. Allow yourself to be mesmerized by a never before explored visual explosion of skiing.
