Telluride’s Mountain Film director steps down

“It has been a long, successful ride for me at Mountainfilm,” Kenworthy said last week, “and I feel I am leaving the organization in a good place. All that I set out to do when I started eight years ago, I feel I have accomplished, and more. Now, it’s time for me to try something completely new.”

After 8 years as Mountainfilm film director, Peter Kenworthy is taking his final bow.

The non-profit that has been around since 1979 has benefitted from Peters wealth of knowledge on the business side. But that is not what has driven him the past 8 years. “I was never really that excited about banking,” Kenworthy said. “It was never really me … what I like about the nonprofit world is that it’s mission-driven.”

The next director will come from within the non-profit. Peter will assist in choosing the new director.
