South Korean Olympic organizers have named Lindsey Vonn as an international ambassador for the 2018 winter Olympics held in Pyeongchang, South Korea. The first non-Korean to be an ambassador, she joins the list of other esteemed members such as Olympic figure skating champion Kim Yu-na and Texas Rangers outfielder Shin-Soo Choo.

Thirty year-old Vonn missed the last winter Olympics in Sochi sue to a knee injury, but she fully plans to participate in the 2018 Pyeongchang Olympics.

‘My goal for my entire career is to promote skiing, not just in America but across the world. It’s an amazing sport’

Vonn was able to visit the construction site of the Games’ alpine skiing venue this week. “The site looks very challenging … It’s very steep and (with) a lot of jumps which I really like. I’m looking forward to seeing it with the snow on and actually being able to run the course,” said Vonn following her ambassadorship press conference.

If you’re wondering if Tiger made an appearance at the press conference, you’ve missed this week’s big new. Lindsey and Tiger split this past weekend.
